About me
As the Inclusionary Projects Coordinator, I support school and district leadership teams with the implementation of inclusionary practices at the system and classroom levels. Over the past 5 years, our statewide project has made significant gains in our LRE 1 data to ensure all students have access to grade level core curriculum in the general education classroom. As the discrepancy model disappears for special services identification, we will see more general education classrooms supporting students with disabilities alongside their typically developing peers. Universal Design for Learning provides educators with a tool to identify and reduce/eliminate barriers in the classroom environment. Student voice is a critical component of UDL and helps support all students in becoming expert learners. The data in our region is showing some amazing success around attendance, engagement, academic outcomes, social-emotional outcomes, and behavioral outcomes. Inclusionary practices is an exciting journey, not a destination, to reach all our students.
