About me
My name is Shannon Heckelsmiller and I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 8th grade, and I can’t remember when I didn’t love science! I am currently the K-12 Science Coordinator for the Tahoma School District, but previously I held the same position with the Kent School District. Most of my career has been in middle school science education, but I have also taught struggling learners in a private school, remedial reading and language arts, and my very first teaching experience was at an elementary school where I was also the school secretary. I have been trained as an OpenSciEd Facilitator, and I have been a consultant with AVID.
