Melissa Petersen, MA-SLP/L, NBCT (she/her) is an autistic educational speech language pathologist, AAC Specialist, National Board Certified educator, and 2022 Washington Education Association ESA of the year. She has 15+ years experience working in K-12 public schools in Washington State, and has presented at the PNW Therapy Summit, Closing the Gap, AAC in the Cloud, for the Washington Special Education Technology Center, and the AbleU webinar series. Her professional interests include Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT). Her personal interests include raising service dogs, bicycling, and canoeing. She lives in Seattle with her spouse and a collection of puppies.
