About me
We help students get to school, engage in school, and graduate.
In 1963, Saul Haas was dropping his daughter off at Garfield High School. He caught sight of a girl shivering outside. He asked his daughter why she wasn't wearing a coat. She replied, "Dad, she doesn't have money. She never wears a coat." Saul could have driven away that day. As the co-founder of KIRO TV and Radio he had plenty on his mind. But he couldn't forget the girl. He went to the principal's office, handed principal Frank Hanawalt a check for $500 with one stipulation: give to students in need immediately, discreetly and with no red tape. Since 1963 InvestED support has grown from one coat to include food, clothing sports fees, computers, mental health needs, classroom field trips, music and performing arts, graduation expenses and so much more.
